​About Us

The Washoe County club was founded in 2005 by a group of dedicated and dynamic local women. We would like to include you as a member!   You will meet new friends, network, enjoy a shared vision, have lots of fun, and most of all, you will make a difference in the lives of local women and children through our service projects and awards!

Soroptimist International of the Americas was founded in 1921 and is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.  

Soroptimist International of the Americas is a 501(c)(3) organization.   Soroptimist Washoe County was founded in 2005.  It is one of three clubs in Washoe County, and we are part of the Sierra Nevada Region.  Our club is one of 1,500 clubs that make up Soroptimist International of the Americas, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.
 
Our club works with the community to provide volunteer services and assistance to the Kids Kottage, Washoe County Social Services, and Washoe County Senior Services, to better improve the lives of children and women in our community.
